'Pornography' shown at funeral for Cardiff father and son

An investigation is under way after pornography was allegedly shown on a TV at a funeral for a father and his baby son.

The service for Simon Lewis, 33, and his son, Simon, was held at Cardiff's Thornhill Crematorium on Wednesday.
Rev Lionel Fanthorpe said the incident left mourners "desperately upset" and Cardiff council has apologised to the family and friends for the "inappropriate content".
Mr Lewis and his son died following a car crash on New Year's Eve 2015.
Media Wales reported a claim from an unnamed mourner that  porn appeared on the screen.
A council spokesman said: "The council has forwarded a written apology to the family and is carrying out an urgent investigation."

Rev Fanthorpe said: "I'm either looking at the congregation or at the prayer book. To me, it sounded something like voices in a shopping centre but I couldn't see.

"Simon's father-in-law was desperately upset. He came rushing forward. He was looking for an engineer and urging them to 'turn it off, turn it off'. Fortunately it was off in seconds.
"This was not what anybody could have ever imagined or wanted. I just felt the deepest possible sympathy."
Four screens were being used to display tributes and the council said the TV which showed the content had been recently installed.
"We are trying to establish if the new screen - which is a smart television - could have accepted or picked up a broadcast by accident via blue tooth or across a wi-fi network," said the spokesman.
"The other three screens which aren't smart TVs were unaffected. We are clear that it isn't possible for any member of staff to play or download anything on the computer that links to the screens in the chapel."
The screen in question has been disconnected while engineers carry out an investigation.
Mr Lewis, from Trowbridge, was the driver of a Daihatsu Sirion carrying his wife Amanda and their three-year-old daughter when it was involved in a crash with a Peugeot 307.
The Lewises' son was born three months premature when a decision was taken to carry out the emergency Caesarean section, amid concerns the baby was in distress.
MR Kyle Kennedy, 29, from Rumney, Cardiff, has appeared in court charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to give a blood sample, driving while disqualified and aggravated vehicle taking without consent.

Angel Garcia not happy with WBC forcing Danny G to fight Khan

Angel Garcia is not happy with the news about the World Boxing Council ordering his son newly crowned WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) to defend his title against WBC #1 mandatory challenger Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) on or before June of this year.

Angel feels that Danny should be able to move on to bigger fights that they have their eyes on. It’s unknown what big fight Angel is eying for Danny, but it obviously something that he must feel that is a bigger fight than a rematch with Khan.

Garcia did not impress with his 12 round decision win over Robert Guerrero (33-4-1, 18 KOs) last Saturday night to win the vacant WBC welterweight title at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The judges scored the fight 116-112, 116-112 and 116-112.

The fact that Garcia was allowed to fight #6 WBC Guerrero for the WBC title instead of Khan or one of the higher ranked contenders like Shawn Porter was a controversial one, because the WBC skipped right over those fighters without giving them a chance to take the fight. In other words, Garcia was allowed to fight a lower ranked guy for the WBC title instead of someone higher ranked and arguably a better fighter than Guerrero, who had lost two out of his last four fights coming into the contest with Garcia.

“I don’t see nothing there,” Garcia said . “(If they fight) it’s going to be a repeat of the same thing again. Danny will knock Khan out. I’m not underestimating him but, I don’t want to get into the WBC politics. Danny is the champ. But I don’t see nothing happening there, in my opinion. I don’t think we’re even looking at that, honestly. Why would we fight Khan? There are bigger names out there right now. Khan had his time.
He made a lot of money in boxing. I don’t know why he stood around waiting for  Mayweather to fight. It never happened. I don’t see (this fight) taking place.”

Garcia stopped Amir in the 4th round in 2012. However, Khan was dominating the fight going into the third round. It was a tough fight for Garcia until he was able to drop Khan in the 3rd. Regardless of the fact that Garcia beat Khan in the past, he’s still the No.1 contender in the WBC’s rankings and he was passed over by the WBC. He shouldn’t have been passed over in the first place, and now that the WBC is looking to give him a chance at fighting for the title afterwards, Angel is unhappy about it for some reason.

Does Angel want the WBC to just ignore their No.1 contender and let Danny Garcia fight whoever he pleases? It doesn’t make sense for them to do that. If Angel wants his son to be seen as a legitimate champion and not a paper champion due to the way he was allowed to fight a lower ranked guy for the belt, then he should be fine with letting his son fight Khan. At least if Garcia beats Amir again, he’ll have defeated the No.1 contender in the WBC’s rankings and he’ll look a little more legitimate in the eyes of the boxing public.

Angel says his son won’t be vacating the WBC title, because he feels this would be a sign of disrespect to the sport.

“We’re not trying to go on bad terms with anybody,” Garcia said of the WBC. “Were not trying to do that. Why would you be the champ and then vacate the belt? That’s disrespecting the boxing world. If we have to do it, then we have to do what we have to do. But I’m just saying I don’t see nothing there for me. (But) we’re not going to run from anybody. We’re not scared of (Amir Khan).”

If Angel and Danny aren’t going to run from Amir, then they need to let it go and accept that they’re going to need to fight Khan by June. If they can’t handle that, then they need to vacate the title and go look for Rod Salka to fight again or whoever else from the lightweight division.

We don’t even know if Amir is going to take the fight with Garcia. Khan seems a little conflicted about what he wants to do. He might end up facing IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook next in the summer because the money for that fight is a lot more than what he’d make in a rematch against Garcia.

Essex criminal John 'Goldfinger' Palmer murdered for 'silence over Hatton Garden heist'

CAREER criminal John 'Goldfinger' Palmer was assassinated at his home near Brentwood because the gang behind the Hatton Garden raid feared he would reveal the identity of Britain's most wanted man, it has been said.
Crime author Wensley Clarkson makes the claim in his new book on the raid, which was Britain's biggest ever burglary and was committed over the Easter weekend in 2015.
A total of nine men have been convicted of, or admitted charges in connection with, the burglary.
The raid is said to have netted jewellery and cash worth £200 million.

Much of the money and jewellery has not been recovered and is thought to be with the only member of the gang who was never caught – a shadowy figure known only as "Basil", who is still on the run and the subject of a major police manhunt.
In an astonishing series of claims and revelations, Clarkson says Palmer knew the identity of Basil and was killed on the orders of a notorious crime family.
Palmer was found dead at his home in Sandpit Lane in South Weald on the evening of June 24 last year.

The 64-year-old, who was once the UK's richest villain, was one of Britain's most notorious criminals after he was prosecuted, but later cleared, of his involvement in the Brink's-Mat bullion raid at Heathrow in 1983.
He melted down the millions of pounds' worth of stolen gold in an outbuilding in the garden of his luxury home at Lansdown, near Bath, and arranged for it to be dealt with at a goldsmiths in Bristol.
Palmer was found not guilty of the charges after successfully claiming he did not know the gold was stolen. He was later jailed for timeshare frauds.
The fatal single gunshot wound to the chest was only spotted at a post mortem examination days after his death.
Mr Clarkson claims Palmer was murdered to ensure he stayed silent about the identity of Basil and who was really behind the Hatton Garden raid.
Mr Clarkson said: "My source tells me Palmer was playing everyone off against each other, but in the end the Hatton Garden job played a part in his murder.
"The Hatton Garden mob have been presented as a bunch of amiable, bumbling old lags who attempted to pull off one last 'Big Job' before finally retiring to the Costa del Crime.
"But in researching a new book on the raid, the evidence I have uncovered suggests the real story is rather more chilling.
"My sources tell me the raid went ahead because the Adams family, the most feared criminal gang in North London who once operated from a headquarters just yards away from the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit building, wanted to get their hands on a box locked inside the vault.
"That box, containing crucial evidence that could have implicated them in a murder of a gangland figure, belonged to John Palmer, who used it as 'insurance', threatening to hand the keys to police if he was harmed.
"Palmer and the family had been engaged in a 30-year feud, dating back to the Brink's-Mat bullion robbery."

Floyd Mayweather Snaps Back At Conor McGregor As Their War Of Words Continues

Floyd Mayweather doesn't care if Conor McGregor (or his bald UFC boss) are butthurt over racism
remarks.

The back and forth between McGregor and Mayweather continues after Floyd tried to tie his lack of popularity versus the Irish UFC fighter to racism. McGregor didn’t take long to respond to Mayweather’s original comments, saying he didn’t appreciate being “put in that bracket” and that people have been “buried in the desert for less.”

Now a thoughtful looking Mayweather is responding, saying his words about “that guy Conor … McGregor? Is that his name?” were misconstrued. “I didn’t say I had anything against Caucasians…or white Americans, or white people, period. Or Irish. All I said is this, in this world, racism still exists. But I’m not racist, that’s all I said. If he got offended, that’s life. Sometimes people will get offended by certain things people say. Just me, I have tough skin. I’m built for anything.”

Well, Mayweather did talk about Conor, contrasting the response he received for trash talking : “I don’t really know the McGregor guy; never seen him fight. … They say he talk a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it , they say I’m cocky and arrogant. So Stupid! Like I said before, all I’m saying is this, I ain’t racist at all, but I’m telling you racism still exists.”

Except McGregor gets a ton of hate for being cocky and arrogant, from the fans, from the fighters he faces, and from the media. He gets a lot of love too, but that’s the thing with being a controversial public figure: You’re gonna have haters.

McGregor has his, as does Floyd. Does Floyd have more? Absolutely. But that has less to do with him being black than it does his extensive domestic violence record and his boring style of fighting. You can’t just say whatever you want, tack on “Racism is real!” and suddenly be right. Racism is real, no doubt. Are “cocky” and “arrogant” dog whistle words racists have been using for decades to talk down successful black athletes? For sure.

Does any of that have to do with Floyd Mayweather’s lack of popularity versus Conor McGregor’s? Not really.

Conor McGregor Gives Advice On How To Handle A Bar Fight

If there's one guy who probably doesn't have to worry about random dickheads starting a fight with him while he's on a night out, it's Conor McGregor. In an interview with a magazine, the UFC featherweight champion has given some advice on how to approach potentially hostile situations. Obviously, it's very easy for a man with one of the most lethal left hands in sport to offer this kind of advice. Although his second point is definitely worth taking.

 1. Be aware of your surroundings.

 2. If you can avoid the situation, avoid it and leave.

 3. If you are forced and there is no going back, I would advise to strike first, strike hard and exit safely.

4. James Bond had a quote, saying - "When you enter a room, be civil to everybody but have a plan to kill each and every one of them."
